There are several levels of search engine promotion that you can choose from:
Search Engine Submission
This is the simplest and easiest option. Submit your NEW website to the few major search engines, so that they can find your site. Even once your site has been submitted, it may still take a month or two or three for it to appear. The search engines work on their own time so you need to be patient. Often a better approach is to develop relationships with other sites that are already in the search engines, and have their sites link to your web site. When the search engine spiders (terminology used for the search engine program that makes its way through the web and indexes web pages) load their pages, they will discover your site. This method of entering your site in the search engines will produce better placement.
Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization is the process of building web sites that rank well on search engines using specific keywords and key phrases. These pages have to be individually written for each search term or keyword phrase. Besides the content (which is the MOST important component), the links that bring viewers to your page must also be developed with search engines in mind. The text in your links must use your important keywords. We can not stress enough, the importance of developing relationships with other websites that offer links to your site, especially ONE WAY links. We will go as far as suggesting that you pay for some of these links! We develop web sites that are search-engine friendly, that often the pages we build rank well naturally on most search engines.
Keyword Research
Keyword research is the process of examining various search engine databases and evaluating how many times searches are performed for words that may apply to your site. The main reasons that this is done are that:
1. You may want to consider search terms that you have never thought about
2. You may want to spend the money to perform search engine optimization on words that have a large number of searches
